QUESTION: Why do we have so many handicapped parking stalls? It seems excessive for an ACTIVE senior centre.
ANSWER:
As a seniors’ community hub, we want to encourage the attendance of seniors of all abilities. There are many community members that require mobility devices in order to remain active and we want to ensure that they have what they need to participate at our centre.
This would include having a place to park that would allow for them to utilize their mobility device, such as a walker, cane or wheelchair. To increase the number of spaces available to our members, the staff have opted to park on the street to increase parking availability within the lot itself. Â
