Saturday February 29th we held our first ever Rock and Roll Dance fundraiser and it was an amazing success!

The evening started off with a wonderful dinner – guests had their choice of either a quarter chicken with with roasted potatoes and honey glazed carrots OR a vegetarian pasta primavera.  Our in house chef Desirae and her team of kitchen volunteers did a wonderful job and we heard rave reviews about the meal, especially the lovely dessert prepared by our kitchen volunteer extraordinaire, the man with the hat Dave C!

Our Office Manager and self proclaimed “rocker” Sabine B. gets the credit for bringing the band Bridge Motel to perform.  It was a fantastic night of music with the band playing everything from Chubby Checker to Steve Miller Band and Credeance Clearwater Revival to the Doobie Brothers!  Seasoned performers, everyone agreed they put on a fantastic show and even finished off the night with the classic end of the dance song, Last Kiss by J Frank Wilson and the Cavaliers!

It was so fun to watch everyone get up and dance!  We heard from lots of our members that really enjoyed watching the band perform!

Staff member and in-house photographer Thomas Zheng manned our WSAC photo booth, while staff member Lorena S. kept busy all night emailing everyone their photo booth photos!  Even Sabine and the band took some time out to grab a quick photo!

All in all it was a wonderful evening.  We have heard from many of our WSAC members asking when we will be doing another dance.  We will DEFINITELY be doing another one down the road…watch our website for details!

Here are a few more photos of our evening!

Our volunteers getting ready for a fun evening together.  Our Executive Director Haidong Liang, Fundraising Chair Sharon Smith and her husband Bob!

Our staff also got into having some fun with Cherisse, Thomas and Haidong showing off their best rock and roll poses!  Our Special Events committee once again did an amazing job decorating the room!
