WSAC has recently increased the drop in fees to Pickleball from $2 to $4 starting on April 29.   This has brought up concerns from some of our members along with the concern that there are too many people dropping in at one time for the program and members are finding they are not getting enough quality play time.  Although it is wonderful to have such great interest in Pickleball we recognize that some changes need to be made.  The program department, with feedback from the members, has put together 3 options for members to vote on.  We will have the poll available until April 26.  We ask that you only vote once.  Results from the poll will be compiled and members will be emailed with the final result.    The new process for Pickleball will begin with our fall program guide in September 2019.  Thank you for your input.

  • 1. $2 drop in fee - split up time slots
    • 1 1/2 hour play times - 1/2 hour break in between for people to leave and next group to come in
    • beginner, intermediate and advance time slots - time slots will be assigned once fall program guide is in progress
    • a level system would be implemented for players to figure out which slots they fit into
    • players can participate in both slots however they must sign in for both on my seniors and sign in sheet as well as pay $2 for each time slot
    • we would still require 2 volunteers to assist during the Beginner time slots.  These volunteers would not pay the drop in fees  during the beginner time slots.
    2.  $4 drop in fee - time slots stay the same
    • time slots will be 3 1/4 to 3 1/2  hours continuous play.  One day of the week will offer 3 1/2 hours continuous play just for beginners (Friday), the other 3 days of the week will be for regular players (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday) - same times as currently scheduled
    • we would still require 2 volunteers to assist on Fridays in helping our beginners learn the game.  These volunteers would not pay the drop in fees on Fridays.
    3.  Registered Program
    • up to 16 people per 1 3/4 hour slot - 6 week sessions - $12 per session
    • divided up into beginner, intermediate, advanced time slots
    • player can register for more than one time slot with the understanding that they play at that level
    • a level system would be implemented for players to figure out which slots they fit into
    • we would still require 2 volunteers to assist during the Beginner time slots.  These volunteers would not pay fees during the beginner time slots.
    * members will still be required to do the set up and take down of equipment at the beginning/end of each group of sessions.
