Our Executive Director will be providing a daily update on COVID-19 and Operation Actions being taken by WSAC

Mar 6th update

On March 6, Dr. Deena Hinshaw’s, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, issued the following statement: “In light of these developments and the continued spread of the virus, Alberta will now be expanding its testing protocols across the province.

Effective immediately, we are advising all travellers returning from outside of Canada to monitor their symptoms.

“If they experience flu-related symptoms, such as a fever or a cough within 14 days of their return, they are asked to self-isolate immediately and call Health Link at 811 to arrange follow-up testing. We are asking that returning travellers do not go to emergency departments or urgent care centres, but rather to call 811 to make sure that testing happens either in assessment centres or in the person’s home.
